Metaphorizing virtual realities into analog abstractions back and forth.

Ana Spagnolo is a Buenos Aires born / Brussels based art practitioner with a background in art production, product design, media art and scenography. Besides working alongside a great number of artists in her production role, Ana’s personal emerging practice explores the long lost idea of the internet as a refuge.

In her work, Ana fantasizes about scenarios where technological artifacts evoke a more intimate, yet critical and ironical relationship between ourselves and the media that we’re constantly exposed to in our daily lives.

In the quiet expanse of the digital landscape, all the domains for this project have faded into obsolescence, and I decided to keep it that way.

Inspired by Aram Bartholl's 2010 "Speedshow" format, this interactive installation recreates the atmosphere of forgotten early 2000s internet cafés in 2023. The collective PowerPoint project invites visitors to add new slides based on various prompts, revealing their creative sides. This DIY data generation strategy encourages participants to share their perspectives and meta visions while resisting the algorithmic forces that shape our online interactions.
